Manali Patil of SM Shetty School scored 93.84% to be the topper amongst the three SSC schools in Powai
Amidst the backdrop of fees hike, suspense of quota for college admission for SSC to 90% and the matter in court the SSC result was the last to be announced on Thursday.
More than 16 lakh students from the state, including over 2.5 lakh from the board’s Pune division, had appeared for the exam, which was conducted at 3,693 centres and involved students from 19,287 secondary schools.
Of the total students, who had enrolled for the exam, over 8.96 lakh were boys and over 7.06 lakh were girls.
The three SSC (class Xth) schools in Powai namely SM Shetty School, Gopal Sharma Memorial and Powai English High School scored 100% results in the board exams. It was S M Shetty School: 100% Result – First rank Manali Patil with 93.84%, Second – Aditi Hinge with 92.92% and third Koustubh Shenai with 92%
Gopal Sharma School: 100% Result >> First rank – Bhavin Chhaya with 92%, Second Ritesh Bokre with 91.69% third Nivaya Acharya with 91.07%
Powai English High School: Praveen Yadav with 88.61%, Second – Ankit Chedda with 87.84%, and third – Anju Pillai with 87.38%.
‘Planet Powai’ spoke to Manali Patil of SM Shetty School on the occasion, who topped the SSC Board results in Powai securing 93.84%. This score has been all time high in her school so far. Manali is an all rounder, she is learning Kathak from a private teacher, she is active in dance, debates and quiz contests, had got second prize in zonal Bournvita Quiz. Excerpts from the interview:
Planet Powai (PP) – Since how long have you been studying in this School?
Manali Patil (MP) – I have been studying in this school for 11 years (since Sr. Kg)
PP – Before the onset of the exams how many hours a day were you putting in for studies and how did you do your preparation?
MP – Before the onset of exams I used to put in 4 – 5 hrs a day for studying. I used to study regularly which I think helped a lot.
PP – What was your strategy towards optimizing results?
MP – study how much ever you can with full concentration. Have fun and extra activities also. Do not get yourself too stressed.
PP – What have been your favorite / strong subjects?
MP – Maths.
PP – How far has private tuitions or personalized coaching helped in good results?
MP – Yes. They do help a lot. They make you work a lot. It certainly gives a level of confidence over and above regular studies. The results proved it.
PP – What has been the role of your school in these results?
MP – My school and my teachers have been a great support. I want to thank them and I’m really grateful to them. The school teachers track your performance and give valuable suggestions to improve areas where more effort is required.
PP – What has been the role of your parents in these results?
MP – Though my parents are engineer by profession and working I got all the encouragement and support from them in my studies.
PP – What message would you like other aspiring students for such good marks?
MP – Study well and have fun also the entire year. Don’t miss out on curricular activities and your hobbies.
PP – How do your parents and friends feel at your new-found success?
MP – My parents are very proud of me. My friends also have been a great support and they are over the moon at my success.
PP – What are your ambitions in life?
MP – I aspire to be a successful Lawyer or a CA, basically a good human being.
PP – Who has been the role model in your life?
MP – My Mom, I always aspired to be like my mother. The way she manages her work, home and personal life I am quite influenced by her as my role model.
PP – In one line if you had to comment on your success, it would be………
MP – Presently I’m on cloud 9. I feel great. I would like to thank my parents, teachers and friends for supporting me. I hope this success stays with me forever.
