VRUKSHAROPAN-2012 at Chandivali- Powai

Tree Plantation of hundreds of trees were done by followers of Sadguru Dr. Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari on the beautiful sunday morning at Mhada Chandivali. Women, men and children of all ages got up early and came out in great numbers in Powai Chandivali for

planting

saplings of various types of plants in this suburb. This they are not just planting , but the enthusiastic group promised to take care of these plants in all climates till they take firm roots.

A brief history

 

Nana Dharmadhikari(Dr. Narayan Vishnu Dharmadhikari; ज्येष्ठ निरूपणकार नानासाहेब धर्माधिकारी),the 86 

years old spiritual guru  was born on 1st March 1922.He had an “Ashram” in the Raigad district at Revdanda town.He established Shree Samarth Aadhyatmic Seva Samiti.He devoted his entire life to spread the philosophy of the 17th century Saint- Samarth Ramdas Swami,the author of devotional books- Dasbodh, Manache Shlok etc.

He had devoted his life to preaching to his followers the tenets of virtuous life free from avarice, addiction and superstition.He was known for social service for over 60 years, in Raigad district,on the Konkan coast of Maharashtra.

 

When Nanasaheb was a child,he visited his grand mothers town,where he found a set of holy books wrapped in the red cloth.He curiously inquired about those books with his grandmother.She discouraged him saying – “It is beyond our power to unwrap the books or understand them so let it be like that only.” The holy book was “Dasbodh”,written by Shri Samarth Ramadas Swami at Shivthar Ghali.Narayan (Nanasaheb) became very curious about the contents of these holy books and began his attempts to read and understand them.His father Shri.Vishnu Anant Dharmadhikari helped him read and understand the books with its meanings.His persistant efforts to expertise the holy litarature made him what he is today.Nanasaheb then done the exceptional work of bringing Shrimat Dasbodh within the reach of a common man including the tribal areas of the state.

Nanasaheb always wanted to see a well cultured,self sufficient and  powerful cooperative society.In one of his interviews he had explained the meaning of being a powerful nation.A huge military force equipped with newclear weapons will only destroy the beautiful earth and will led to mental, social, physical and all other sorts of problems.He said a po

werful country has each of its citizens very powerful Mentally, physically, financially by all the human virtues.One should be devotted to god throughout one’s life.

Nanasaheb,before few months of his death was not in good health.He was admitted to Dinannath Mangeshkar Hospital in the afternoon,on Monday,7th July 2008.He was unconcious and underwent MR

Nanasaheb’s son Dattatray attenede a function at Kharghar for receiving the Maharashtra Bhushan Puraskar being awarded to his father.Nana’s followers decorated the city with drawing rangolis at prominent junctions.More than 20 lakh people were said to be present at the open ground opposite Central Park in Kharghar,the venue chosen for awarding the renowned social worker.orld including the countries like USA, UK, Australia, Gulf countries, etc.He was honoured by many Government and social organisations for his great work.He was decorated with the state government’s highest award “Maharashtra Bhushan” earlier this year,along with famous poet Mangesh Padgaonkar.

As per information,Nanasaheb is survived by his sons Dattatray and Shrikrishna.After Nanasaheb, his son Shri Appasaheb (Shri. Dattatraya Narayan Dharmadhikari) continued the same work and  received Jagdguru Tukaram Maharaj Award in Pimpari,near Pune,for his exceptional work
